When your back is against the wall, you have to fight with every last fibre of your body to stop the opposition from scoring. This intense drill will test your resiliance, defending and tactical awareness. Will you be the one to stop that match-winning try? Two minutes of non-stop defence vs attack. Eight attackers arrange themselves on the 5m line, whilst six defenders line up on the try line with two resting defenders on standby in the dead ball zone:

  • Continued Attack For 2 minutes, the attacking team must attempt to score a try. Once you score, pass the ball back and repeat until the time is up.
  • Count how many tries you score The team with the most tries wins.
  • Resting defenders swap every 30 seconds To help give defenders a rest.

How To Play:

  1. Teams take turns to attack and defend.
  2. Once the first whistle blows to start the drill, the attacking side have to try to score continuously.
  3. If a try is scored, the attacking team reset to the 5m line and begin the process again until time is up.
  4. Defenders must prevent the team from scoring.
  5. Every 30 seconds a defender must swap with a resting defender to help keep fresh.
  6. Once the 2 minutes are up, count the number of tried scored, then swap sides. The team with the most tries at the end, wins!

It’s always recommended to stretch and warm-up before any training and cool down afterwards.
